Both Árni Björn and Rúna made it into A-finals in five gaits

The Icelandic national team has done a great job so far at the World Championship so far……

Today Rúna Einarsdóttir Zingsheim and Árni Björn Pálsson both secured themselves a right to compete in the A finals in five gaits. They received the same score – 7.13 and are even in 4th to 5th seat. Both of them showed great strength and were both confident and refined in their presentations and it is clear that both Freyr and Aris still have a lot left for the finals which will be next Sunday.

Topmost is Vignir Jónasson riding the former world champion Kraftur frá Bringu and they are competing on behalf of Sweden and received a score of 7.53 for their presentation.

The world champion from last year Stian Pedersen appeared with a new competition horse, Léttir fra Hellesylt and received a score of 7.10 and is topmost into the B-finals. The question remains whether Stian will repeat what he did at the last World Championship, when he managed to take Tindur frá Varmalæk up from the B-finals and won in a memorable way the A-finals in the competition.

It would be enjoyable to see the old champs Ljósvaki frá Akureyri and Númi frá Þóroddsstöðum on the track. They were just as good as the younger horses and the rider of Ljósvaki, the Norwegian Stine Helene Sørvåg, can be quite content in the 11th seat in the World Championship with this 19 year old gæðingur.
