Introducing EIÐFAXI TV
A streaming service has been launched under the Eiðfaxi brand, Eiðfaxi TV, with the goal of ensuring that Eiðfaxi remains the leading media outlet in the Icelandic equestrian world.
In light of changes in the media landscape, where traditional print media faces increasing challenges, it has been decided to restructure Eiðfaxi ehf. as a media company. The purpose of these changes is to strengthen the company’s operations while primarily enhancing services and creating a better experience for its followers. We believe this represents a significant step forward and another milestone for a media outlet with a nearly 50-year history.
Eiðfaxi TV
The streaming platform will strive to provide a comprehensive look into the diverse world of horsemanship. It will focus on interviews and visits with horse enthusiasts, both professionals and amateurs, educational content related to horses, visits to horse farms in Iceland and abroad, and much more. Competitive events will also receive significant attention with live broadcasts from various competitions.
Where possible, live broadcasts on the streaming service will be available in Icelandic, English, and German. This focus aims to ensure that the platform gains traction internationally among tens of thousands of fans of the Icelandic horse worldwide.
In January, the website eidfaxitv.is was launched, and the Eiðfaxi TV app will soon be available on all smart devices. Through these platforms, users will be able to access all live broadcasts and other content produced by Eiðfaxi. This winter, various indoor leagues will be offered, beginning with the first competition night of the Masters League in equestrian sports on January 23rd!
The Eiðfaxi News Platform
The new Eiðfaxi will be built on two pillars: a powerful news website, www.eidfaxi.is, and the new streaming platform, Eiðfaxi TV.
The website has strengthened its position significantly in recent times, with readership reaching all-time highs, attracting tens of thousands of users each month. The staff is deeply grateful for this positive reception. We will continue to invest in the website, emphasizing high-quality news coverage of the horse world in Iceland and internationally.
The 2024 Eiðfaxi Yearbook will be the last print magazine issued, and it is now being distributed to our subscribers—a beautiful, nearly 300-page publication. However, the Eiðfaxi Stallion Book will continue to be published in connection with the event Stóðhestaveisla, as it remains the most popular book among horse enthusiasts every year, enjoying wide distribution and attention.
A Message of Gratitude
At this turning point, the Eiðfaxi team would like to thank our loyal subscribers, many of whom have supported Eiðfaxi for the past 48 years. Without you, Eiðfaxi would not be what it is today. We look forward to the future and hope you will join us on this journey of progress.
Eiðfaxi TV is accessible on the web, Android smartphones, Apple TV, Android TV, Google TV, Amazon Fire TV, iPhone and iPad.
