Will Gígja be the honor prize winner?

The riding instructor and horse breeder Þórdís Erla Gunnarsdóttir should be very satisfied with her achievements at the horse breeding show of the weekend at Brávellir in Selfoss….

Yesterday Þórdís Erla presented a four year old stallion from her own breeding stock, Hrafnar frá Auðsholtshjáleigu who received first prize. With this achievement, Gígja frá Auðsholtshjáleigu, the mother of Hrafnar received the necessary points and number of offspring in order to be awarded a honor prize winner.

Gígja, whose owner is Þórdís Erla, is 16 years old and out of Orri frá Þúfu and Hrafntinna frá Auðsholtshjáleigu.  She is a very talented mare, her highest assessment is from the year 2002 when she received a total score of 8.64 and 9,05 for talent!

The offspring of Gígja have already been catching some attention on the competition tracks. For example, Þórdís Erla competed riding the son of Þyrnir, Hreggviður in the five gaits competition of the Masters League with good results. Also she rode the daughter of Álfasteinn, Þóra Dís at her presentation show at the FT jubilee earlier this winter.
