Conformation assessment on stage – photos

Facilities are exemplary, the horses were presented before the judges on a stage in front of the area where the spectators were, and this area was crowded with spectators all day, which is positive considering this is the first day of the tournament.

The assessment of the Icelandic horses were in coordination with the former assessment where most of the horses received similar assessment or they were raised. Although there was one exception in this case.

The first representative on behalf of Iceland, Smá frá Þúfu was raised for legs and hooves and received a score of 8.03. Helga Una Björnsdóttir, understandably, the exhibitor of the mare was pleased with this assessment, Rauðhetta frá Kommu received her former assessment of 8.11 which was also the case of Gjöf frá Magnússkógum who received a score of 8.22.

Feykir frá Háholti received a fantastic score of 8.66, raising his score from 8.50 and was second highest assessed stallion of the day. Arnoddur frá Auðsholtshjáleigu matched his former assessment of 8.50. Glotti frá Sveinatungu on the other hand lowered his former assessment down to a score of 7.98 which is considerably lower than his former assessment from last spring, where he received a score of 8.24.

Assessment for talent of breeding horses will proceed tomorrow and it will be enjoyable to watch how the horses coming from Iceland compare to some of the highest assessed horses of the continent.

The highest assessment for conformation was received by the mare Von frá Vigra, who received a score of 8.68 and this mare was presented on behalf of Norway. But the horse of the day was undoubtedly the majestic Prins frá Knutshyttan in Sweden. He received the fantastic score of 8.61 and of course this is a magnificent horse, he is tall, with long legs and long neck.
