Forever young pace champ

Erlingur Ó. Sigurðsson (Elli Sig) is the senior amongst competitors this year, and he will turn seventy years old next month. Elli was noteworth when riding Hnikar frá Ytra-Dalsgerði at p 250 m pace yesterday under the applause of the spectators and is in seventh place at this time. But the champ will take another sprint of pace with Hnikar.
 
There is an interview with Elli in Eiðfaxi newest edition where he recollects his track record with Hrímnir frá Hrafnagili. „He is an unforgettable horse, so majestic. This was a milestone horse at that time. I feel that Hrímnir is the most supernatural and most beautiful gæðingur that I have ever seen in my life and all my years in equitation. Whether people want to believe this or not“ Elli says among other things in this interview.
