Helpful members of the Hörður horse club

Herdís Hjaltadóttir and Sveinn Ingi Grímsson truly have good friends in the Hörður horse club……

The day before yesterday a group of people started to tear down and clean the remnants of the burning stables and yesterday there was a meeting where this task was organized. The task is under way, which is rebuilding the stables which burnt. The idea is that the cleaning up part and tearing down what needs to be torn down will be done next weekend so that following the reconstruction can start. The club house will be open where volunteers will be offered food and coffee.

It is a pleasant thought to think how people work closer together when someone suffers a loss and need help.

Herdís or Lilla as she is called in this area was interviewed in an extensive article in Eiðfaxi last year and as readers remember she mentioned her great collection of all kinds of objects which have been given to her by a number of people. In this respect, her stable was a kind of a “heritage center” and most of these objects meant a lot to her. Now Lilla has lost all of these objects and has to start building up her collection all over again, a collection she was very proud of and was very fond of many of the objects that could be found there.
