this trophy is an addition to the beautiful flora of peripatetic trophies which are presented at all of our Landsmót gatherings. The Schield of Þorkell is given in the memory of Þorkell Bjarnason on behalf of all of the horse breeding organizations in the country.

This is a very rare peace of art made by Sigga in Grund, which will be handed over to the highest assessed mare at future Landsmót tournaments, regardless of which age group the mares pertain to. Sveinn Steinarsson in Litlaland is responsible to the presentation of this piece of art as well as the entire matter.
