Exciting competition in tölt preliminary – finals

There was rain and shine in the tölt preliminary today. Literally…..

The pouring rain affected the performance of some of the competitors in the tölt preliminary. But still this was not the case with everyone. Karly Zingsheim riding they gray horse Dagur appeared on the track when the rain poured hardest, but did not seem to have any affect on the two of them who performed a great show around the wet track and received a score of 8.43. The German spectators on the grandstand showed their cheerfulness intensely when it became clear that he had taken the top seat from Hinrik Bragason who had previously had a safe leadership until then, with a score of 8.20.

Viðar Ingólfsson and Tumi frá Stóra-Hofi received a score of 7.43 for their performance. The speed transitions were not as flawless as they are known for which the main reason for them was not receiving a higher score. The spectators did not agree with the judges when the scores were red up in the loudspeakers, but they ended the competition in 11th seat, only just a fraction from the B-finals.

Our young adults did really well, they were all very neat, orderly and professional on the track. Agnes Hekla Árnadóttir  and Vignir frá Selfossi  received a score of 6.97 and were in third place in the class of young adults after the Danish competitor Ditte Soeborg riding Dár frá Kjartansstöðum  and Marleen Stühler from Germany riding Baldur vom Sonnenreiter. Hekla Katharína Kristinsdóttir and Gautreki frá Torfastöðum received a score of 6.93 and Arnar Bjarki Sigurðsson and Röskur frá Sunnuhvoli had a score of 6.73.

Hvinur frá Holtsmúla appeared on behalf of Norway in the class of young adults. His rider was Elise Lundhaug showing courage to bring the reining world champion in this event to the competition. Unfortunately, their show seemed a little strained and they received a score of 6.77 and completed the competition in 27th place.
When Jóhann R. Skúlason and Hnokki frá Fellskoti appeared on the track, last of all the competitors, the rain had stopped. As usually they looked great and deserved a grand applause from the spectators, which they did during the show and they received a score of 8.30 as a final score which put them in second place into A-finals after Karly and Dagur.
