Leista´s talented offspring

Leista frá Lynghóli the winner in class 4 of mares at the Landsmót 2006 with a total score of 8.34. At that time she received a total of 8.57 for talent, and 9.0 for tölt, spirit and temperament….

Leista was a wonder foal according to her owner, Árni Þorkelsson and Jakobína Jónsdóttir and two of her offspring are being trained and already they are perfoming with great talent. These are the son of Þóroddur, Bjartur frá Lynghóli and Steingrímur Sigurðarson worked on the in-riding last year and the son of Krákur Gneisti frá Lynghóli who is now with Mette Mannseth and Gísli Gíslason at Þúfur being trained.

„Both of these horses show great talent in their gates and both very interesting. The son of Þóroddur went off to a great start, he is a 5 gaited horse with high and wide movement and very supple and Steingrímur was very impressed with him. The son of Krákur will be a great tölt horse, and his gaits are very soft also. The aim is to present both of these horses next spring and they have been ridden quite a lot and their offspring have been quite colorful; Bjartur´s offspring are chestnut with a blaze, with white socks and Gneisti is black with a blaze“ Árni says and so far Leista has given us five offspring.  „Two mares are out of Álfur and thencame a mare from Aroni frá Strandarhöfði last spring.

All of these young horses are talented and are running around at tölti, and indeed the ancestry of Leista are very strong tölt horses,“ Árni said.
