An idea becomes a reality – thirty heroes going to Berlin

The Icelandic saying goes something like this: Often a small spark becomes a great flame. In our minds we are already half way to Berlin!

Owner of Huginn frá Kjartansstöðum,  Susanne Braun, caught on to the idea of Sigurður V. Matthíasson, which was first brought forth in the final part of Eiðfaxi article – here and for sure she will attend the World Championship in Berlin 2013 with old Huginn.

Not just that. Now she is working on looking up old heroes in good shape – horses who have in common the experience of having competed in finals of a World Championship – and those will go to Berlin. The organizers of the World Championship liked this idea and the object is for at least thirty champs which are 20 years or older to travel to Berlin.

This project travels like wildfire in the world of Facebook, because during the first 24 hours of the page: „Old Heroes – Wir kommen nach Berlin!“

owners of six horses said that they would come and those horses are: Kappi frá Álftagerði, Depill frá Votmúla, Gordon frá Stóru-Ásgeirsá, Eitill frá Akureyri, Blær fra Minni-Borg, Pjakkur frá Torfunesi and finally Huginn himself, who will honor the guests of the World Championship.

What a great idea!
