Highest breeding assessments of the year

Magnificent horses with great talent were bresented during this years horse breeding shows…..

Thirteein horses received a score of 8.80 or higher for their talents fduring the year at different shows all around the world. Spuni frá Vesturkoti is the highest assessed breeding horse of the history with a total score of 8.92, which he received at the Landsmót at Vindheimamelar last summer and where he receved a score of 9.25 for talent which is the highest sevaluation for talen a horse has received so far. With this score he exceeded the score 9.23 which was received by Rauðhetta frá Kirkjubæ at the Landsmót at Gaddstaðaflatir in 1994. Beides Spuni two horses were in the group of ten of the highest assessed breeding horses for talent and they were Þóra frá Prestbæ who received a score of 9.08 and Kiljan frá Steinnesi who received a score of 9.07.

A closer look into certain aspects of talent
Two horses received a score of 10 for tölt during the year, and those were Alfa frá Blesastöðum and Díva frá Álfhólum. A total of sixteen horses received a score of 9.5 for tölt. Also two horses received a score of 10.0 for pace and those were Þóra frá Prestsbæ and Spuni frá Vesturkoti and nineteen horses received a score of 9.5. Seven horses received a score of 9.5 for trot but noone received a score of 10.0. Not a single horse received a score of 10.0 for canter but three horses received a score of 9.5:  Loki frá Selfossi, Orka frá Sauðá og Kapall frá Kálfholti. Spuni frá Vesturkoti and Díva frá Álfhólum received a score of 10.0 for spirit and temperament during the year. No horse has ever received a score of 10.0 for general presence but five horses received a score of 9.5 during the year: Kiljan frá Steinnesi, Herjólfur frá Ragnheiðarstöðum, Korgur frá Ingólfshvoli, Ísafold frá Kirkjubæ and Eldur frá Torfunesi. Six horses received a score of 9.5 for walk, eight horses received a score of 9.5 for slow tölt and five horses received a score of 9.5 for slow canter.
