Will they come back home loaded with gold? Every seat in the national team is occupied

Nineteen riders are in the national team in horse sports which is competing on behalf of Iceland at the World Championship in Austria which will start in August 1st next…..

The Icelandic Horse Clubs Federation is extremely proud of this team which consists of experienced and strong riders and horses and there are great expectations from them on the riding tracks at St. Radegund in Austria in August, according to the announcement from the Icelandic Horse Clubs Federation today.

The national team leaders Einar Öder Magnússon and Hafliði Halldórsson introduced the entire team for the first time in the Lífland store today. The national team leaders expressed their satisfaction with this choice, which consists of riders with great experience in competitions and horses who have recently proven to be amongst the best competitions horses.

The national team leaders chose the newly crowned Icelandic champion in 250 m pace,  Elvar Einarsson and Kóngur frá Lækjarmóti into the team quite unexpectedly, but in the physical checkup yesterday it became clear that Gammur frá Skíðbakka III was slightly injured on one leg and therefore it was decided that he would not travel abroad with his rider Teitur Árnason.

On the other hand, the national team leaders chose Agnesi Heklu who is the sister of Teitur and the gæðingur Vignir frá Selfossi and Arnar Bjarki Sigurðarson and Röskur frá Sunnuhvoli in order to compete in the class of young adults along with Hekla Katharína Kristinsdóttir and Gautrekur frá Torfastöðum and according to Hafliði the national team leaders are quite pleased to have such a strong team of young adults along.
Also the national team leaders chose Haukur Tryggvason and Baltasar vom Freyelhof into the team and they were also a part of the team in 2009. Also the newly crowned Icelandic champions in the aggregated four gaits, Hinrik Bragason and Sigur frá Hólabaki, will be competing in tölt and four gaits.
