„Little Iceland“ in Sweden

Not many can pride themselves of 600 hectares of grassland, especially as this is not in Iceland…
There is an Icelandic horse farm in Sweden named Alvargårdens Islandshästar where the pastures are extremely vast. The farm is at the south part of the island called Öland which is situated a short distance from the south east coast of Sweden. It is the family called Zetterholm which own and run this huge farm and apart from horse breeding they offer pastures and nurturing of horses. There are a considerable number of horses suffering from summer eczema that spend time at this farm, and the ailment disappears fast, because at this place there are no flies. Many people call Öland “Little Iceland“.
