A total of 82 stallions at LM2012

Now that the spring shows are over here in Iceland it is interesting to check on which horses are on top in each class….

There is a great variety of good horses, and this time the highest assessed stallion in the class of 6 year olds will participate, and this is the son of Kraftur, Hrannar frá Flugumýri II with a total score of 8.85. The farm Flugumýri II is the owner of the top horse both in the class of 6 year olds and 7 year olds, which is considered fantastic achievement.

A total of 82 stallions have reached the minimum requirement for participation at Landsmót. The largest number of horses is in the class of 5 year olds, a total of 30 stallions and in the class of 6 year olds there are 21 stallions and in the oldest class there are 17 stallions and only 14 horses in the class of 4 year olds.
At Landsmót in 2011 there were a total of 110 stallions which participated. There were 21 horses in the class of 4 year olds, 29 horses in the class of 5 year olds, 33 horses in the class of 6 year olds and 27 horses in the older class of stallions. If all those horses reach the minimum score for participation, then still there will be 25% fewer stallions at LM2012 than last year, at Vindheimamelar in 2011.
