Álfur and Óskar leaving Iceland

The story of Álfur is known to most and he is born in 2002 and his bloodline is from Orri frá Þúfu  and Álfadís frá Selfossi. Álfur received his highest assessment at Landsmót in 2006 and received a total score of 8,46 and at Landsmót 2011 when he received first prize for offspring. At Landsmót this year, Álfur received the Sleipnir trophy this year at Sleipnir trophy. And already, Álfur has put his mark on horse breeding in Iceland and one can spot horses with red head and loins here and there around the country.

Not only did Álfur himself leave for Norway, but along with him was Óskar frá Blesastöðum 1A and it is Nils Christian Larsen who will be training the horse with the aim to take him to competitions. Óskar has charmed many on the competition track and this year under the control of Artemisia Bertus. For example they won the four gaits in the Masters League and were in seventh place in the tölt competition of Landsmót and in 6th place at the Íslandsmót. He is one of only  three horses who have received a score of 10 for slow tölt at breeding assessment.

It is the horse breeding farm Sunnaholt who are the owners of Óskar. The farm Sunnaholt has often been discussed amongst horse people this year. Horses from that farm have been catching attention at shows and tournaments and news about Sunnaholt farm buying other horses have also been in the media. Not many know the people behind this farm and the versatile operations which the couple Steffen og Angelika Langaard stand for.
