Hátíð offspring proving to be great tölt horses

Hátíð frá Úlfsstöðum was in fourth place in the class of 5 year old mares at the Landsmót in Vindheimamelar in 2006 with a score of 8.38. She is in the group of 10 horses which have received a score of 10.0 for tölt. She received a score of 9.02 for conformation and 8.62 for talent. For general presence she received 9.5 and for trot, spirit, temperament and tölt she received a score of 9.0. At the presentation, Hátíð was magnificent; she is a great four gaited mare with unusually high and wide leg movement. She is the main breeding mare at the horse breeding farms Hamarsey and Ragnheiðarstaðir, and the owners of these farms share the ownership of this mare equally. Presently, Hátíð has given birth to five offspring who seem to be inheriting their mother´s presence as well as talent.
 
„The offspring of Hátíð seem to inherit from her qualities from her such as conformation, high and wide leg movement, beautiful neck and not least they are supple and soft just like here also“says Hannes Sigurjónsson at Hamarsey. „Her first foal was Hákon, who was born in 2007 and was in-ridden last year and the the aim is to take her to Landsmót in 2012. Hrafnar is one year younger than Hákon, he will be four years old next spring, and he is black with a star and is out of Orri frá Þúfu. He was in-ridden last fall and looks really promising, great qualities in his gaits and he is also kind and gentle, with long legs and beautiful forequarters. “Besides Hákon and Hrafnar,  Hátíð has given birth to three mares and these are Harka who is out of Gaumur frá Auðsholtshjáleigu, Hátign out of Krákur frá Blesastöðum and Hera who is out of Héðinn frá Feti. Presently, Hátíð is pregnant with a foal that is from Spuni frá Vesturkoti.
 
In Eiðfaxi 8th edition there are interviews with a few owners of some prize winning mares who caught well-earned attention when they were presented at the horse breeding shows.
