Magnificent finals in the tölt competition

There was great excitement amongst the spectators in St. Radegund when the strongest tölt horses in the world competed in the A-finals of the event…..

Thre Icelandic national team members were amongst the competitors: Jóhann Skúlason and Hnokki frá Fellskoti, Hinrik Bragason and Sigur frá Hólabaki and Viðar Ingólfsson and Tumi frá Stóra-Hofi.

After the presentation of slow tölt and speed transitions, Karly Zingsheim and Dagur were leading the competition but Jóhann and Hnokki were not far behind them. At the fast tölt some great presentations by the competitors could be viewed, and the spectators cheered and stamped their feet down in order to cheer the competitors. In this presentation Karly received considerably lower scores than Jóhann did and therefore he defended his title and he received the desirable tölt-horn for the fifth time!

The rain had a great impart on the presentation of Viðar Ingólfsson and yesterday after the hoof boots he was using for his horse were weighed they apparently were too heavy, so that his competition was therefore null and void. This is a very sad ending for him.  

Hinrik and Sigur were in fourth place in this class with a total score of 8.28.
