Riders of the year honored in the Scandinavian countries

From the mainland we have heard news that riders of great achievements will be honored, and for the most part these are women horse riders….

The World Champion winner, Anne Stine Haugen was chosen, rider of the year in Norway, and it was memorable when she won the four gaits competition at the World Championship riding her horse Muni frá Kvistum. The rider of Ljósvaki frá Akureyri, Stine Helene Sørvåg, was honored as a young adult of the year and the 16 year ols Sara Helene Halvorsen was chosen the teenage rider of the year. The Norwegians also chose the breeding horses of the year and it was Tigull fra Kleifa who was elected the stallion of the year in the class of horses born in Norway. Von frá Vigra was elected the mare of the year and she was born in Norway and won the class of older mares at the WC. Lettir fra Hellesylt received the title stallion of the year and Gná fra Jakobsgården was elected mare of the year.

In Denmark, women riders were honored in all classes. The rider of the year was the twenty year old Ditte Søeborg and she has been extremely successful at the competition tracks riding the horse Dár frá Kjartansstöðum. The gæðinga rider of the year was elected and this was  Stephanie Nielsen, the pace rider of the year was the world champion Tania Højvang Olsen, the breeding horse rider of the year was Mathilde Landt and Caroline Grønbek Nielsen was elected the most promising rider of the year.  

In Sweden it was Magnús Skúlason who was nominated the sports rider of the year, and he is the current world champion in five gaits after a  glrious victory riding his horse Hraunar frá Efri-Rauðalæk. Sigfús Sigfússon was chosen the gæðinga rider of the year and Linda Antonsson was elected the young rider of the year ársins. Finally it was Vignir Jónasson who was honored as the breeding rider of the year as well as the rider of the year, he presented the horse  Prins från Knutshyttan who was chosen the breeding horse of the year, which does not come as a surprice to anyone because Prins was the horse with the highest breeding assessment at the WC this year and received the fantastic total score of 8.72. For qualities he received a score of 8.65 and for conformation he received a score of 8.81 at the World Championship. And finally it was Knutshyttan which was chosen the horse breeding farm of the year in Sweden.
