The most likely competitors to be nominated as the Sports rider of the year

Horse peoples Harvest Festival will be held at club Broadway now in the beginning of November. The tradition is at this festival is that a rider is nominated and awarded, but as before, there are five to six riders in this class. Therefore the rider decided to gather together those who are nominated and here below are the names of those which I felt were the most likely to receive the nomination Sports Rider of the year, and the riders are listed here below in alphabetical order.

Sports Rider of the year
•    Agnar Snorri Stefánsson became the Scandinavian champion in loose rein tölt and five gaits this summer in Eskiltuna, Sweden. He has also won many different awards at tournaments abroad this year.

•    Árni Björn Pálsson was awarded as the Íslandsmeistari champion in tölt riding Stormuri frá Herriðarhóli and was in the B-finals in tölt at Landsmót in Reykjavík. Also he was the Reykjavík champion in tölt in 1st class last spring.

•    Guðmundur F. Björgvinsson was the Íslandsmeistari champion in four gaits riding Hrímnir frá Ósi and was also in the finals in five gaits at the same tournament riding Snævar-Þór frá Eystra-Fróðholti. Also, Guðmundur was the winner in four gaits, 1st class at the Reykjavík masters tournament which was held at Fákur last spring.

•    Jakob Svavar Sigurðsson was a double Íslandsmeistari champion last summer and he was the winner in both five gaits and loose rein tölt, riding Alur frá Lundum. Jakob was also a winner in the finals at Landsmót in tölt and at the Íslandsmót tournament riding the mare Árborg frá Miðey. Jakob was also extremely successful in the Masters League, where he ended in second place.  

•    Sigursteinn Sumarliðason was the winner in tölt competition at Landsmót riding Alfa frá Blesastöðum, and they defended their title from last year.

•    Viðar Ingólfsson became the aggregated Íslandsmeistari champion in five gaits and gæðinga pace riding the horse Már frá Feti. He was also in the tölt finals at Landsmót and Íslandsmót last summer riding Vornótt frá Hólabrekku.
