The old champs charmed spectators on the slope

Member of the horse club Hringur, Stefán Friðgeirsson and the stallion Dagur frá Strandarhöfði were great at the preliminary of A-class gæðingar. These forever young friends are experienced in this field and this is the fifth time they compete at Landsmót. Dagur is 17 years old and the rider himself is 65 years old and their age added together they are probably the oldest amongst the competitors.

They are always doing well although they are always competing with younger riders. They received a fantastic score this time 8.53 for safe and entertaining presentation which caused great applause amongst the spectators. Presently, they are in second place.

There were a lot of discussions about the sire of Dagur last winter. He is registered to be out of the world champion Baldur frá Bakka but the DNA test showed that it was not so. His origin was looked for and the results from this that the sire of Dagur is Gandur frá Skjálg out of Náttfari frá Ytra-Dalsgerði.
